How much liquid chlorine strength at12.5 percent in a 15 foot Intex Pool?
We have a 15 foot intex Above Ground pool that we need to put chlorine, but do not know the right amount to give if anyone knows about this could you please advise me. Thanks Maree
OK. Maree, this is what have to do …… 1'st is necessary to calculate the surface of the pool. The equation is this .. find the area .. and the area of any circle is RxRx3.14 .. .. you say that the diameter of the pool is 15 ', then R = 7.5 .. well 7.5×7.5×3.14 = 176.6 '.. say 177 '.. Now, to find the == volume area x average depth x 7.5 … 177'x its area is (42 "= 3.5) x 7.5 gallons == 4646.25 Say 4600 liters to do the math easy .. Now raise the level of 1 ppm of chlorine is necessary to add 10.7 ml of 12% sodium hypochlorite per 10,000 gallons of water … And you want to keep a reading of 1-3 FCL ppm. (Free chlorine) .. ADD 1 QUART …. The reading will be elevated about 5 ppm, but that is .. ok the sun and rain, splashing water and add will knock the bottom reading quickly … Get a good Test Kit and test the water every day .. you want to test for Chlorine (FCL and TCL) .. PH (7.2 to 7.6) .. Alkalinity (80 – 120 ppm) and hardness calcium (200 – 400 ppm) GOOD LUCK ……
